The Drake Hotel

I highly recommend this hotel I turned up and was warmly greeted by Yasmin, she offered me an upgrade which was a great start to an all around brilliant stay! Yasmin was amazing, so helpful and kind, she did such a good job, I had issues with uber in the morning so she called the taxi company with no hesitation and was ready to answer any questions I had! The room was lovely, comfy bed, really nice shower, complementary biscoff biscuits (you know it's gunna be good when they're there!) It was also very clean, no issues at all! The continental breakfast was very impressive, a huge variety of food and drinks, breads and spreads, I was in a rush for a coach so only had a breakfast roll to go (kindly delivered to me by Yasmin) Overall a beautiful hotel, with great rooms, food, service and location, I'll definelty be back when I'm in Plymouth next!

The hotel, bedrooms and dining room were spotlessly clean. The front of house staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. Our room was bright and clean with plenty of towels and tea and coffee. Would of liked bigger cups (mug size) as the ones provided are very small. Breakfast was an excellent choice of cold and hot options and of good standard. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Plymouth.

The hotel is very comfortable, extremely clean and in a fabulous position just off the Hoe area. We had two nights B&B and we were made very welcome, such a lovely bunch of people working at Drake. Our son works in Plymouth so we will be back to visit and will stay at the Drake. Thank you.

We had a lovely 1 night stay in a beautiful spacious family room. The lady who welcomed us was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us & our children. The room was great, clean & spacious for the 4 of us. Location was perfect for our trip to Aquarium & winter wonderland. Breakfast in the morning was lovely plenty of choice made to order. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

What a lovely weekend we have just enjoyed! Amy is an exceptional member of staff & an absolute credit to the hotel. She was so welcoming, helpful & funny, we truly felt like we were being greeted by an old friend! We will definitely come back, just to see Amy again! Give that lady a pay rise!

Just spent two nights and was really impressed. We stayed in room 19 which was huge and very elegant. The bathroom very clean and love the marble. Staff very friendly and helpful, they got you anything you needed, and recommend nice places to eat. Breakfast was lovely. Couldn't fault anything. Excellent location. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed for 1 night and we had a lovely stay. Booked the Deluxe kingsize room, although it was in the basement it was modern , immaculate, airy and spacious, the bed and bedding was comfortable and the shower was fantastic. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked. Breakfast was ordered the night before and their was a great selection of continental aswell as a cooked one. Staff were friendly and helpful The only niggle we had was the tiny tea cups and the bathroom window which didnt have any curtain/blind for comfort of privacy(it was a frosted window but if you shower at night with the light on the rooms and apartments at the back would beable to see in )

Stayed 14-16 Feb 2026. Hotel was excellent - we will definitely stay again. We especially appreciated how friendly and welcoming the staff were, on site parking, great location for Barbican, Hoe, theatre and shopping, excellent breakfast and super room. If you book direct with the hotel it is possible to reserve a parking space. This saves £16.50 per 24 hours on street parking charge. Most hotels in this area don't provide parking ! Well done and thank you to Drakes Hotel.
